Dear readers, today is 4 Feb and like all other 4 Feb every year, today is Chinese Li Chun day.
On Li Chun day every year, at least before Covid-19, one will see queues after queues at ATMs. So if you know the background to Li Chun, you would have known why so many people are queuing up at the ATMs: simply because to deposit some monies at a time duration of 4 Feb that is auspicious for the Chinese zodiac sign of the individual depositing the monies.
It is believed that depositing the monies at the said auspicious hour of Li Chun day will bring even more fortune and good luck to the person doing the deposit and hence the long queues at the ATMs.
Today, I have not really come close to ATMs to observe whether there are many people doing the Li-Chun thing when I was outside buying food. Li Chun falls on a Saturday this year and today and I believe Li Chun-ing via ATMs should be more convenient for many.
With the ease of online money transfers these days, I believe some will simply deposit money over PayNow from one account to another if they are adhering to the Li Chun practice.
While many are doing Li Chun today, three people in Singapore became instant millionaires just few hours ago as they shared the TOTO top prize of over $12 million. Congrats to these three individuals!
