Dear readers, a very Happy Chinese New Year to All of You!
You may wonder why is it for this year, I have wished readers a Happy Chinese New Year rather late this year (normally my wishes will come on the eve or latest on the first day of Chinese New Year). So what happened? Well, read on to find out! However, today is Day 3 of Chinese New Year and still one of the first few days of Chinese New Year!
Today is also the last day of the first month of a brand new month of the year and hence I could not help but to note that time indeed flies fast!
I have been especially busy this month as other than my usual work and family commitments, I have also set aside time doing a thorough spring cleaning for the house. When it comes to Chinese New Year, spring cleaning is a non-negotiable for me as I am an individual who values strong Chinese traditions. Through my own action of spring cleaning, I also hope to impart these good values of hygiene and taking care of one’s environment to my kids. I find a great sense of satisfaction in seeing the lots of debris and dust cleaned off from the spring cleaning.
And if spring cleaning over and above my usual commitments are not enough, in between the spring cleaning, my family members fell ill one after another. I was the last one standing, though in the end, I succumbed to high fever and cough.
It could not help that despite my still being sick, I still had to work this month as I had to face off an extremely challenging time at work though it was generally not expected and came as a surprise. I also had to continue to front an important work assignment. As someone who has weathered many challenges at work through the decades, where many times, the challenges like the current ones came unsolicited, I always believe in the importance of resilience and taking the opportunity to learn valuable lessons from each challenges. For this current challenging work episode, I wish for those who hurt me at work be it wittingly or unwittingly, well and heal from their own hurt.
As such, my high fever, as a result of not resting well and still continuing my best to complete my spring cleaning before Chinese New Year dragged on for few days. I normally recover from fever in a span of one or two days. The lack of rest this time round, prolonged my illness.
And if the above was not enough, to cap it off, one of my family members fell very ill again earlier this week and hence the tempo of Chinese New Year visits was affected.
Despite having some good plans for Year 2025, it seems that the start of my New Year has not started very smoothly for me. Again, I always still find the opportunity to be still Grateful in life as I am always of the view that life is always ups and downs.
When life is down, this is the time when we are tested by the Universe. Only when we are tested and pass the test with the Best of our abilities, can we Grow even Stronger! And we become even Better Men and Women as a result!
Wish You All a Peaceful, Joyful and Healthy Chinese New Year of the Wooden Snake 2025! Let us All soldier on in the face of challenges that the New Year may bring! Let us All turn the challenges into Opportunities which will develop and grow us even better!
