Dear readers, I believe that since last year, many of us have been adopting hybrid work arrangements: mainly working from home (since work from home has been the main mode of working) and returning to office on days where required.
I do not know whether the sense of work and working may have become different to or felt differently by you in this new normal of working. To me, working from home has meant that my house has somehow become my workplace for which I have been spending lots of time at home working. This is precisely why I have an urge to come out from house and go to nature and outdoors for a breath of fresh air from time to time.
Working from home allows us more time with ourselves and this is the reason why I believe some of my colleagues have more time to think about what they want for their career and make the move away from their current job, as what I have shared here.
Some may miss the social interaction with fellow colleagues but I would say that this is really the period of time when we can have time to look inwards within ourselves and revisit our goals for life.
My cons of work from home and hybrid working are really about turning my house into a workplace but other than this, I definitely enjoy working from home since it saves me from commuting and commuting time and I am definitely more focused in my work with lesser distraction from colleagues.
But definitely, it is more important to know the larger narrative of why we are working from home and having hybrid meetings/ Zoom meetings since last year. We are still in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic and all of us are doing our part by staying at home more often and wear a mask, adopt safe distancing measures when we are out.
