ONE SURPRISING INSIGHT FROM WORK-FROM-HOME REVEALED!

Dear readers, a majority of us have been working from home (WFH) for more than a year already ever since Singapore’s Covid-19 circuit breaker last year. I still remember when I was put on WFH arrangement, I felt a sense of joy as I would not need to spend time on commuting. A year and more into WFH, I realise the amount of stress from work is no different from physical working from the office. However, WFH still beats physical working from office hand down since I am really able to better focus on my work on hand, without spending unnecessary hours on travel or in unproductive lunch group outings. I am hence grateful for WFH and WFH also allows me to spend more time with my family.

Anyway, the economy has definitely not been good since Covid-19 struck Singapore and other nations. A number of individuals have lost their jobs and hence I always am grateful to continue to have a job in these trying times for individuals and the economy. But there is one surprising insight from all these WFH arrangements which I would like to share with readers as follows.

Ever since WFH arrangements began until last month, I have a number of colleagues who resigned from work. A number of them have gone on to take up new jobs with other organisations. Some of them were said to have left their current jobs without a new job on hand. And few went on to a new calling altogether.

I would think with more time on hand brought about by the WFH arrangements, more individuals have more time to reflect about their lives. Questions individuals probably thought about are what are their long-term plans for their career. This question is inevitable since we spend so much of our time working and working. I think arising from a deep introspection, a number of my colleagues have since moved on.

I am also a deeply introspective person who likes to think about life and living. Not surprising, WFH arrangement allows me even more time for my reading to deeply reflect about life and living.

I would like to share with readers three questions that many will have to face with at any point in their lives:

Where are we from?

Why are we here?

Where are we going?

Do you have your answers to the above questions or are you still searching for them?

That’s it for my insights today.  I Thank you once again for your support of SG STOCKS INVESTING, your Money and Lifestyle magazine! Connect with me here to follow the daily exciting and useful posts on these two blogs, Thank You for your support!
