Dear readers, with the plans of Frasers Logistics Trust and Frasers Commercial Trust to be merged, I could feel a sense of excitement in the Singapore stocks markets over which of the next Singapore Reit or Trust would be the next to be consolidated or merged or be privatised. This sense of excitement in the Singapore stocks markets is a welcome one for it has been really quite some time since the Singapore stocks markets have been trading in a lacklustre manner, left clueless by the dynamic nature of the trade wars between China and the United States.
Before the proposed merge of the pair of Frasers Trusts, I have already been highlighting that there is scope of consolidation for Singapore Reits and Trusts . And I could only note now that analysts are jumping on the bandwagon to give their take on which Singapore Reit or Trust would be the next candidate for merger, privatisation or consolidation. I have gathered some possible candidates for such corporate actions right here on the possible Reits and Trusts .
Okay, back to today’s topic, there is one stock which I believe will be privatised next. This is a stock which has since IPO seen its share price head toward gravity. This is a stock which is owned by one of the richest men in Asia. And this stock is a business trust which still manages to pay annual dividends despite its share price headed down by more than 80% after IPO. And this trust is one which is rather shaped by the developments in Hong Kong right now.
Yes, this stock is none other than HPH Trust USD which is trading at a Price-to-Book ratio of 0.418 with a dividend yield of 11.68%. The lacklustre performance of HPH Trust USD has already seen it leaving the Straits Times Index and I believe this is one stock which would be taken private due to its battered share price and generally what I feel is a lacklustre interest for this stock in the Reits-and-Trusts-aplenty Singapore stocks markets right now.
