Dear readers, since the beginning of this year, I have been talking about how I have been investing and trading in overseas stock. This overseas stock is none other than a stock listed on the US stock exchange and I have already made decent profits from trading in this overseas stock in January 2021. I am now currently looking at more attractive entry points to trade this overseas stock or hold it for the long term.
I know that I have made overseas stock seem sexy or more attractive to invest compared with Singapore stocks. But make no mistake, stocks be they Singapore or overseas stocks all pose their own risk and investors will be foolhardy to think that they will make a windfall by turning their focus on US and overseas stocks.
The most important thing to do is to really pick the right stock at the right time. Right stock meaning this is the stock that are supported by good fundamentals and which you can invest in it and hold it for the longer term (and not bought into this stock through speculation). Right time meaning that you enter this stock at an attractive price.
As of now, I don’t find anything interesting about Singapore stocks or any particular Singapore stock. Singapore stocks markets are generally price taker and against this lacklustre global economy backdrop, there is nothing interesting about Singapore stocks markets. Things get interesting only when there are some corporate news surrounding a specific stock but even for this, things can get speculative.
One of the best uses of your monies this year is to really not invest in it but save it towards your investment warchest which you can deploy when stocks markets crash. I know many have been saying stock markets crash but it seems like there is no risk of markets crash. Actually, when everyone is saying about markets crash, the stock markets seem not to crash. Stock markets will tend to crash when everyone is not expecting it.
