Dear readers, how time flies, especially this year, soon we will be ushering in Year 2021. To many, Year 2020 is a tough year with the Covid-19 pandemic. Lives around the world have been disrupted. People have been retrenched and those working have to adjust to a new working norm. And millions around the world have worn masks to protect against the scourge of Covid-19.
And never in my life do I expect to wear masks for such prolonged periods. Before Covid-19, the only few times where I wore masks are during the occasional intense periods of haze. But I am not really complaining since masks help protect and safeguard lives.
Over these past few months, I estimate that my wife and I have spent some few hundreds of dollars (at least $300) on masks: disposable masks and non-disposable masks for the family, but I am not complaining. Masks are now not just a “want” but a “need” in this Covid-19 times. Until the whole world comes out of Covid-19, I expect many of us to continue wearing masks for a long time going forward.
Yes, “masks” have made entries on my financial expenditure tracking spreadsheet and also for many. And that is why stock prices of mask-related and personal protection equipment-related companies have skyrocketed this year!
