Dear readers, a Happy New Year 2022 to You and Your Family! Today, being the start of a brand new year, let us take a look at the Straits Times Index (STI) biggest winners and losers, based on the year-to-date capital gains of the STI stocks for year 2021.
The five biggest STI winners for 2021, with their year-to-date capital gains are:
YangZiJiang stock (44.6%)
DBS stock (34.8%)
Hongkong Land stock (31.9%)
UOB stock (23.6%)
Sembcorp Industries stock (20.3%)
On the other end of the spectrum, we have the five biggest STI losers, for 2021, with their year-to-date capital losses as follows:
DairyFarm International stock: -29%
ComfortDelgro stock: -14.4%
City Development stock: -12.8%
Keppel DC Reit: -8.5%
Genting Singapore stock: -7.8%
