HOW MALAYSIA STOCK MARKETS PERFORM COMPARED TO SINGAPORE STOCK MARKETS?

Dear readers, as shared in a previous post, the Singapore Straits Times Index, the benchmark of Singapore stocks markets has fared only modestly year-to-date this year: about 2% in capital gain, shown as follows:

3 May 24: 3,305.13

29 Dec 23: 3,240.27

On the converse, the Malaysia stock markets, FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI, fared much better.

On the last trading day of 2023, the KLCI was at 1,454.66 and was 1,605.68 today (7 May 24). The gain translates into 10.4% gain year-to-date or about 5 times the gain as Singapore stock markets.

Hong Kong stock market, which is also recently overbought was also up by about 8.6%, hence congrats to investors who have diversified among some of the better-performing regional stock markets.
