Dear readers, on 25 Nov 2019, I wrote about the next big thing for Singapore Reits and Trusts which would be a consolidation so as to effect better efficiency. My comment was proven correct since it was announced on 28 Nov 2019 that according to sources, Frasers Logistics and Frasers Commercial Trust had made plans to merge.
It only makes sense for consolidation so as to be a bigger entity to compete with their global counterparts in terms of acquisition. My humble sense is that the many current Reits and Trusts here in Singapore will slowly be transformed into a landscape with just a big player with those smaller players who could not keep up having to consider being taken unlisted (i.e. private).
