SPDR S&P 500 GROWTH ETF (SPYG) IS CLOSE TO 60% GAIN SINCE MARCH

Dear readers, SPDR S&P 500 GROWTH ETF (SPYG) is close to 60% since March. On 23 March 2020, SPDR S&P 500 GROWTH ETF (SPYG) closed at USD 31.23 but as of 7 Aug 2020, the stock price of SPDR S&P 500 GROWTH ETF (SPYG) has already reached USD 49.27! The above increment translates into a 57.8% capital appreciation since March 2020!

If you are a regular reader of SG Stocks Investing, you would have known that I am an advocate of ETFs that tracks the performances of selected stock exchanges. Such ETFs are generally well-diversified and carry lesser risks than just focusing one capital in one equity. Thus, investors who simply chose to invest in the growth stocks of USA through a simple ETF like the SPDR S&P 500 GROWTH ETF (SPYG) at the market bottom in March 2020 would have gained 57.8% in capital appreciation very simply.

Compare the above performance to the STI ETF (ES3.SI). The STI ETF (ES3.SI) closed at $2.241 on 23 Mar 2020 and closed at $2.615 on 7 Aug 2020; this translates to just a 16.7% increment, which is humble compared to what could be achieved through SPYG.

But I would strike a balance between my investment in US and Singapore stocks as mentioned here .

That’s it for my insights today.  I Thank you once again for your support of SG STOCKS INVESTING, your Money and Lifestyle magazine! Connect with me here to follow the daily exciting and useful posts on these two blogs, Thank You for your support!
