Dear readers, yesterday DPM Heng unveiled a S$48 billion Resilience budget to combat Covid-19. At the same time, the US Senate also approved a US $2 trillion rescue package to fight Covid-19. Similarly, governments the world over have approved some form of rescue package one after one to battle Covid-19.
I think investors cheer the moves of the governments in fighting Covid-19. The optimism helped lifted the stocks markets. But the ironic point is that the fact governments are pouring monies to combat Covid-19 means that Covid-19 is indeed challenging for the world.
Hence, instead of feeling optimistic so far, investors should be prudent on the development of Covid-19 for the world.
