SEVEN SINGAPORE STOCKS WHICH GAVE YOU MORE THAN 20% CAPITAL GAINS YEAR-TO-DATE!

Dear readers, how time flies, we are coming to the close of Year 2021.

How have your investing been this year-to-date? If you have been investing in Singapore stocks, taking the Straits Times Index (STI) as a benchmark, you should have reaped a capital profit of at least 10%, not including dividends return.

However, there are seven STI stocks which have provided investors with even more capital return. To be precise, a more than 20% capital return each (excluding dividend yields) for these stocks. Let us take a look at the seven STI stocks and their year-to-date capital returns as below, as at 5 Nov 2021:

HongKong Land stock: 44.4%

YangZiJiang stock: 39.2%

DBS stock: 31.9%

UOB stock: 26.8%

Sembcorp Industries stock: 23.9%

SIA stock: 23.4%

OCBC stock: 23.1%

I have been tracking the above list of year-to-date STI winning stocks on a regular basis. YangZiJiang stock used to top the list of STI winning stocks until recently HongKong Land stock staged a rebound, now up 44.4% and excluding the approximately 4% dividend yields. Hence, if you have invested in HongKong Land stock, you would have increased your investment capital by almost 50%!

Among the STI stocks, the banking stocks, DBS, OCBC and UOB stock are perennially loved. Looking at the above list, it seems that if you have invested in any of the above three banking stocks, you would have done equally well year-to-date 2021 too!
