Dear readers, it is time to take a look at which of the Straits Times Index (“STI”) stocks are oversold as at 8 Aug 2019 (Thursday). Singapore stocks markets were closed on 9 Aug 19 for Singapore’s National Day and on 12 Aug 19 for Hari Raya Haji holidays. In the interim, the US stocks markets were down from 0.34% to 1% (indices-wise) on 9 Aug 19. Hence, taking reference from the US stocks performance last week, it is likely that Singapore stocks will head lower today.
Based on the Oversold STI stocks screener as of 2 Aug 2019 prices , there were eight Oversold STI stocks. Looking, at the STI stocks map above, there are currently 18 STI stocks (as shaded in orange) that have been Oversold!
I expect more STI stocks to become Oversold in the near-term future as the lack of positive catalysts and the increase in more vagaries will drive global equities further.
