ONE STRAITS TIMES INDEX (STI) STOCK AT A LOW

Dear readers, there is one Straits Times Index (STI) stock that is currently trading at a low. And the low is unprecedented among the STI constituent stocks. In fact, the last time when this stock was trading at the current low level was March 2020 when there was a correction to the Straits Times Index and other regional stocks. In Mar 2020, the Straits Times Index traded at one of its lowest in recent years at 2,233.48, at approximately 27% down from the current STI level.

The STI stock is none other than DairyFarm International stock which last traded on 27 Aug 2021 at USD 3.52.

For investors who may be interested to buy into DairyFarm International stock because of the seemingly low level, they would have to understand what the fundamental reasons behind the decline of the stock.

Investors should not bargain hunt a STI stock by virtue of it being STI. Investors would just need to recap that a number of supposedly good stocks which were in the staple of the STI family have since been out from the STI after a bad performance: NOL, Noble Group, SPH, Hutchinson Port Holdings, Starhub, etc. On Starhub, interesting Starhub was replaced by DairyFarm International stock on the STI.
