Dear readers, arising from the volatilities in the global stock markets, many stocks markets found themselves in the red year-to-date this year.
Even the Singapore’s Straits Times Index, which has started off fairly decently this year has finally found itself below water for the first time last week. As of 1 Jul 22, the Singapore stock markets Straits Times Index (STI) was -0.9% year-to-date.
Singapore stocks markets has always been the better performers this year. With the southing of the STI below water, there are now not many stock markets in the world which have still made a year-to-date gain for Year 2022.
One such stock market that still managed a gain year-to-date this year is Indonesia. Indonesia’s Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) was still 3.2% higher year-to-date (as of 1 Jul 22), even though it has given up 3.53% for the week ended 1 Jul 22.
A good job for the Indonesia stock market!
