Dear readers, this week, the Singapore stocks markets made a significant move and I am not sure whether some of you might have noticed.
For this week (week ended 22 Jul 22), the Singapore stocks markets, as measured by the Straits Times Index gained a very decent 2.65% for the week. With this week performance of the Straits Times Index, the Straits Times Index was lifted out from the negative territory for the year-to-date. As such, the Singapore stocks markets managed a 1.8% year-to-date gain and this is a very respectable result as compared to some overseas stock markets.
But do not be lulled into thinking that the signs are clear for a rebound of the Singapore stocks markets anytime soon. Be ready for some stock markets volatilities as the US Federal Reserves meet again next week!
