OCTOBER 2019 SINGAPORE SAVINGS BONDS: SURPRISING YET UNSUPRISING OUTCOME!

Dear readers, earlier this month, I have blogged about the October 2019 Singapore Savings bonds . The October 2019 Singapore Savings bonds provides a 1.64% annual return each year for the first three years with the average annualized return at the Year 10th holding at 1.75%. In my aforementioned blog post, I have shared just how low the return of the Singapore Savings bonds have come down: from an annualized ten-year average return of close to 2.10% for previous tranches of the bond to the latest 1.75%.

The outcome of the application of the October 2019 Singapore Savings bonds  has just been announced. Of the $250 million of the bonds on offer, only $57 million had been allotted, which translated into a 22.8% allotment rate only. I still recall some previous tranches of the bonds were oversubscribed as the returns of those tranches were much better then.
I am glad that I have subscribed to the previous tranches of the savings bonds when returns were higher. For readers who are still interested in the Singapore Savings bonds and have yet to subscribe, I would still think that the returns of the Singapore Savings bonds are still rather decent as a ten-year savings plan for the future.

That’s it for my insights today.  I Thank you once again for your support of SG STOCKS INVESTING, your Money and Lifestyle magazine! Connect with me here to follow the daily exciting and useful posts on these two blogs, Thank You for your support!
