Dear readers, fixed deposits with their high interest rates are so popular right now that it has been reported that customers actually waited few hours for their turns to be served in the banks for their fixed deposits placements.
What can be more popular than fixed deposits right now? As per the title of my blog post here.
Well, it is none other than the queue at a Bak Chor Mee stall that I encountered this morning!

With the stall opening only on Tuesdays, Thursdays and weekends, I took the opportunity to grab one of my last bites of 58 Bedok Minced Meat Bak Chor Mee this morning, hoping to wait for the usual 40 to 45 mins for my turn.
But I was proven wrong. When I reached the stall, the queue actually was at least double as long as usual.
As I need to work for the day, I could not take anything more than a 40 minutes wait and hence I walked away from the stall and hoped to come back for the Bak Chor Mee once more before it closes.
If 58 Bak Chor Mee is to close without any succession, then another rare and uniquely good food of Singapore will be gone again with history unlike good fixed deposits which are making a comeback recently.
This exit of 58 Bak Chor Mee will be regrettable and the next best thing I can do is to reconstruct the taste of 58 Bak Chor Mee in my mind next time.
