Dear readers, Happy Labour Day today!
Labour Day in Singapore is celebrated as a mark of solidarity amongst workers. I am a worker (employee) myself and hence yes, Labour Day is for me too!
I believe that Labour Day this year is really a significant one and worth even more celebrating as a majority of workers return back to Singapore and Singapore goes back to a near normalcy after two years battling Covid-19.
And I believe majority of workers have grown accustomed to virtual meetings and working in a hybrid format: online and offline. Not to mention, that polls suggest workers in general still prefer to work from home and would continue to prefer a mix of working from workplace and home.
With the labour market showing continual signs of growth, I would think the challenges facing workers continue to be the high cost of living, high inflation rates which will erode the purchasing power of every dollar earn; to these, I will continue to stress the need to Save More!
