Dear readers, yesterday Keppel Corp and Sembcorp Marine announced talks to explore a combination of their offshore and marine (O&M) businesses. I was not least surprised of the announcement for I have long held the view that both O&M entities will be combined to reap synergies for Singapore O&M sector. In fact, I have shared my view as far back in 2019 in this post . Also, this combination or merger is something that has often been floated in the stocks market.
After the announcement, Keppel Corporation headed up north while Sembcorp Marine stock went up south.
Singapore stocks markets have been quite lacklustre in recent trading sessions. The merger news at least lend some excitement to the stocks markets.
But it is definitely more exciting when we take opportunities of the stocks markets at the right time! Have a Good weekends!
