Dear readers, it was reported yesterday that there were two new confirmed Covid-19 cases. This new number of confirmed Covid-19 cases were significantly fewer than the 8 or 9 cases noted in previous days. As such, does it mean that the Singapore Covid-19 situation is improving?
Well, it is hard to say right now due to the still ongoing development of the Covid-19 situation in Ground Zero China. But if we are to look at the 3-day moving average graph of the new Covid-19 cases in Singapore right now, we will be heartened to see that this graph has taken a decisive step down the 5-day moving average. And the gradient of the 5-day moving average of the Covid-19 seems to start sloping down as well!
Just as in the technical analysis of investing where moving averages are used, past performance where moving averages are based on are definitely not 100% predictor of future performances. But one thing for sure is that if the Covid-19 situation starts improving, confirmed new Covid-19 cases and hence the moving average of new cases will start to trend down.
