Dear readers, we are now into December 2023. Given that banks typically offer updated fixed deposit promotion each month, it is time once again to take a look at the latest fixed deposit offerings.
For today’s post, let us take a look at Hong Leong Finance’s fixed deposit promotions for Dec 23.
For a deposit amount of S$20,000 and above, Hong Leong Finance is offering the following fixed deposit interest rates:
6-month tenure: 3.30% per annum
9-month tenure: 3.30% per annum
12-month tenure: 3.25% per annum

As comparison, the latest Jan 2024 Singapore Savings Bonds (SB Jan 24) offers an average 3.07% per annum for a 10-year holding: the bond offers 3% per annum each year for the 1st seven years of holding, more details can be found here.
Also, the latest 6-month Singapore Treasury Bill BS23123Z, provides savers with a interest rate of 3.80% per annum.
Based on the comparison with the latest Singapore Savings Bonds and the 6-month Treasury Bill, Hong Leong Finance Dec 23 fixed deposit interest rates are rather decent and respectable.
