Dear readers, Econ Healthcare has launched its IPO on 9 Apr 20921. There are a total of 50 million shares priced at 28 cents per share. Of the 50 million shares, 48.2 million were placement shares and only 1.8 million shares for public offer.
The public offer of shares commenced at 0700 hours on 10 Apr 2021 and will close at 1200hrs on 15 Apr 2021. Trading of Econ Healthcare shares on the Catalist board of Singapore Exchange (SGX) will commence on a “ready” basis at 0900 hrs on 19 Apr 2021.
The IPO of Econ Healthcare brought to me yet another déjà vu for it is once again an affair of previously-listed companies making a comeback again on the Singapore stocks markets in recent times. As a quick recap, we have Aztech Group, TA Corporation that once again list or list its subsidiaries back on the Singapore stocks markets after exit from the bourse some time back.
I welcome Econ Healthcare IPO for it is at least an IPO in Singapore stocks markets which has really seen a dearth of IPO in recent times. Given how healthcare sector has often been seem as a defensive stock and in recent years, been seen as a sector with growth prospect due to ageing population in Singapore and in the light of importance of healthcare given the current Covid-19 backdrop, I forsee demand for the public tranche of the IPO is likely to be robust. It is also likely to be a strong debut for Econ Healthcare on the Catalist Board.
Notwithstanding what I have mentioned, I will give the IPO a miss as I do not like to invest in IPOs as I prefer to consider only stocks with a history of trading so as to know what could be a good price to enter into these stocks.
