Dear readers, one Reit which has recently debuted on the Singapore stocks markets has headed south last week by quite a fair bit. I would not mention the name of the Reit but I believe there is room for the Reit to head down further in time to come.
I often come across on the internet articles of investors buying Reits and Trusts as an avenue to sit back and collect the dividends provided by these forms of equities as part of their journey towards wealth creation or even financial independence. However, I am not so sure whether investors know what exactly they are investing when it comes to Reits and Trusts. We may have heard of millionaires who sprang up from investing in Reits and Trusts in the old days. But in the current days of investing where markets are more volatile, the environment that makes equities in general more volatile is exactly the same as that for Reits and Trusts.
