First, the Rat loves to eat sweet food. So in this year of the Rat, do take a look at the food and beverages sector especially those companies dealing with food that are sweet. A company that comes into my mind is F&N stock. Hence so if like the Rat favouring sweet drinks, Year 2020 could be a year that favours the food and beverage industries.
Second, the mandarin pronunciation of the Rat sounds like shu (tree); hence on this note, investors may want to take a look at industries like plantations, printing and publishing and education.
Third and last but not least, the mandarin pronunciation of the Rat also sounds like shoe. And a shoe-related stock that comes into my mind is Nike stock.
