BS23114A 6-MONTH T-BILL: CUT-OFF YIELD TO HIT 4% PER ANNUM?

Dear readers, the auction of BS23114A 6-MONTH T-BILL is here soon, on 20 July 2023.

Will the cut-off yield of the 6-month T-bill reach more than 4% per annum given that the cut-off yield of the most recent 6-month T-bill (BS23113V) is 3.99%? The auction date of BS23113V T-bill is 6 Jul 2023.

For the BS23112N T-bill that preceded BS23113V, the cut-off yield was 3.89% per annum. So, we note that the cut-off yield for the most recent two 6-month T-bills has been high, hovering at average of 3.94% per annum.

It will be interesting if the cut-off yield of BS23114A 6-MONTH T-BILL does indeed reach or goes above 4% per annum, since fixed deposit interest rates have been on a decline.

I would reckon the cut-off yield of BS23114A 6-MONTH T-BILL will go lower because the overall macro environment should not justify such high short-term interest. No magic numbers here, but my prediction is at 3.50% per annum for cut-off yield of BS23114A 6-MONTH T-BILL.
