Dear readers, recently, I decided to dine in at McDonalds for my breakfast.
I ordered a Big Breakfast set as I love the set though it does cost a hefty $8.20 per set these days!
When the order arrived, I was shocked that the receptionist withdrew a tub of butter from the serving tray as she obtained clarification from the restaurant manager that the butter was not applicable for Big Breakfast. I was told that if I were to still have the butter, I will have to pay more for it.
I was told that in terms of spreads, the Big Breakfast set will only come with a miserable small tub of jam. When I asked for hotcake syrup, I was told that I will not be given since hotcake syrup is reserved for pancakes and not Big Breakfast set.
I was then sent off with my Big Breakfast set after being briefed by the McDonalds staff on the condiments.
I am very used to having my Big Breakfast messy and sweet with the hotcake syrup and butter as it elevates the taste of the Big Breakfast set. With just a small tub of miserable and non wonderful cherry jam which could barely cover the two buns, I struggle to partake the very dry Big Breakfast set which I could no longer recognize.
With costs of living in recent years going to prices that cause quite a lot of regret, disappointment and anger in me, I am quite pleased with prices of McDonalds going less steep in price increases as versus other food. However, with McDonalds now focusing on its bottom lines and begin charging more for condiments, it is very regretful.
No longer is a Big Breakfast enjoyable for me in McDonalds. I have no choice but to also give Big Breakfast a miss in the future.
