Dear readers, this year is a good year for Singapore’s sporting scene due to none other than Loh Kean Yew, Singapore’s very own, newly-minted world badminton champion!
Yesterday, Kean Yew was featured on television, assisting with the Boy Brigade with the distribution of food hampers to families.
I think Singaporeans missed the live action of Loh Kean Yew being crowned the new badminton world champion and in today’s newspapers, Mediacorp replied to a forum contributor that Mediacorp does not have the broadcast right for the finals where Kean Yew was crowned King. However, Mediacorp will be able to show the re-telecast of Loh’s championship match at 1715 hrs, on Channel 5 on Christmas Day! So do not miss!
Year 2021 has been another challenging year for many of us due to Covid-19 and hence I hope Loh Kean Yew will be featured at Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2022 to serve as a beacon of motivation for Singaporeans in the upcoming New Year.
Loh Kean Yew could be featured just before the strike of midnight for the new year, donning his sports attire, carrying his badminton racket, wearing his Gold medal and of course, striking some of his championship badminton postures!
I believe Singaporeans will be very inspired!
