Dear readers, a Happy National Day 2021 to All readers!
On this day, I would like to share with readers one Singapore stock which I would think would best encapsulate Singapore.
This stock is none other than Singtel stock!
There are three reason why I choose Singtel stock.
First, the colour of Red. The corporate colour of Singtel is Red, which is exactly the colour of Singapore.
Second, Singtel being the first telephone communication network for Singapore would have touched the lives of many of us. You would have used Singtel products like telephone lines at some point in your lives or if not, your parents or grandparents would have done so.
Third, I am not sure whether you have heard of Discounted Singtel shares or Singtel Discounted Shares or Special Discounted Shares? If you have not, probably you are a young reader. In 1993 and 1996, Singaporean CPF members were able to buy Singtel shares at discounted prices, as part of the Government’s asset enhancement programme to give Singaporeans a greater stake in the country. According to Singtel, there are now more than one million Singaporeans among its retail shareholders
