Dear readers, the World has now a new winner of the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Argentina, a team which I have supported!
And the final of World Cup 2022 did not disappoint!
After a 2-0 lead by Argentina against France all the way into the early second half of the match, pretty much the game seemed a tad boring as France kept striving to score but to no avail and it seemed certain that Argentina would be crowned champion and I really almost dozed off! In fact, one interesting insight was that when I checked on the Singapore Pool odds of the two teams after Argentina’s 2-0 lead, odds of Argentina’s winning became 1.03, and France’s odds of winning became multiplied to 17! (prior to the match, France’s and Argentina’s odds were respectively at around 2.2 and 2.8 each).
It was only after the referee awarded France with a penalty kick in which France scored its first goal that prove to be a pivotal turn for the game. After its first goal, France continue to score its second goal minutes later such that the score became 2-2. This was followed by extra times to 3-3 and then the penalty kicks with Argentina winning France 4-2!
I did not legally bet on this finals as the evergreen lesson from World Cup is always that the Ball is Round and this lesson also really applies to the stock markets right now.
