Dear readers, how time flies!
Chinese New Year celebrations are over.
Singapore Budget 2024 is also over.
And inevitably, what is not over for many of us is our work as employees.
The everyday drill: waking up most of the time, grudgingly early at the sound of the alarm and then the mad rush to prepare kids to school and then to work, is familiar to many.
Many of us work to Save to secure a Better future of our families and ourselves. Amidst our busy schedule working and spending so much of our time at work, many of us are saving hard even in these days of higher costs of living and also having the dream to be financially free from TOTO: the 4 winners each winning some $3 million are the envy of many.
Since work is such an integral part of many of our lives, I have in recent years, arising from the increasing work and responsibilities, adopted a work life integration concept. That is to really treat work as part of our life and have this concept that our times at work are never wasted: we are always making a contribution to others and through the course of work, there are opportunities for us to learn new and different skills.
This is why, these days, I try to find some hours on weekends, after having balanced my other commitments in life to clear my employee work: logging on to the work laptop, and clearing work which I can.
Such weekend work efforts are never wasted. 1 hour spent to clear work on weekends are 1 hour free for me to clear my other work come next work week.
I am always grateful to be working and as it means that I am making a contribution to others in the context of my work and I can also earn an honest living from it.
Thank you for reading this post! Let us enjoy whatever time is left today before we head back to work tomorrow again!
