Dear readers, I found myself working alone in office on some days this and last week.
Many of my colleagues are either clearing their leaves or are on overseas holidays.
Some have requested to work from home in view of the reduced work tempo at work. I have also allowed my staff to work from home of they request so.
But for myself, if there are no reasons to work from home (WFH) on my work from office (WFO) days, I will continue to report back to office and work from office on my WFO days. This is only right and this is discipline.
Though some say the intent of WFO is to foster collaboration and it could be meaningless to WFO with nobody around, I am perfectly alright to work alone in office.
Working alone in office only means that I have even more focus as there is less distraction. And more solitude to think about how to solve problems and plan ahead for the next year.
Part of the reason why I enjoy the festive year-end mood is that most of the work for the year is already done. And beside enjoying the festive mood, I am also quietly preparing for a brand new work year to work towards.
This work year, unlike other past year is again not without challenges. Challenges of a different kind.
But as I have experienced, I have grown so much as a result of tackling many challenges at work over the decades head-on.
It is an attitude that I will continue to bring for the upcoming new year.
Sorry to muse so much on Christmas Day.
I wish you a Merry Christmas Day and for those like me reflecting on the year that is to close, I wish you a Happy an Fruitful musing!
