Dear readers, the increased showers and rains these recent weeks are a welcome relief and they reminded me that the close of yet another year is almost here.
Yes, when it comes to the close of each year, there is a noticeable change in weather: it is cooler and somehow with this mood I will tend to get reflective about the year-to-date.
I will muse about what I have learnt, experienced or done in all aspects of life. And ponder about whether I have made the Best use of my limited time on earth.

Contrary to conventional beliefs, whether or not one has made the Best use of time, to me is really less about material gains even though they are important. And hence I will shy away from using the word “achieved” but rather just use the word “done” as above. Personally, I believe the experience of the process (the journey) is more important than the destination. The question is related more to one’s spiritual growth.
I like to ponder regularly on what some said are the 3 most important questions in life:
Who am I?
Why am I here?
Where am I going next?
Work definitely makes us most of our waking hours and could leave many not to have the time to ponder about life in general. Whatever time we have after a busy and hectic work week will be spent resting and recuperating over the weekends to get prepared for yet another week to come.
I will however advise all of us to regularly review the larger meaning of life especially when work in some places could be winding down due to the soon closing of a year.
However, the pace of work has not slowed down for me at my workplace. Even while many colleagues have started clearing leaves, my responsibilities are such that work is not slowing down any sooner. There are always the so-called important assignments given to me.
And just to share, we are already starting to think about the workplans for the next year!
Thinking about is an understatement: my team and I have to crystallize them and get them ready for presentation to the higher-ups!
Work never stops and this is expected else we will be made redundant!
Beside working, these days, we are also encouraged to upskill and equip ourselves with the most relevant skills in today’s world where skills could be disrupted by AI and the likes.
We can however always take small little breaks, muse, plan and come back with more enthusiasm for work and life!
