Dear readers, this afternoon, I was in Orchard Road and was in need of caffeine, since I did not have my regular coffee for the day yet.
I was in Ngee Ann City and there are few coffee options for me such as:
Ya Kun café at Basement: hot coffee at $2.70
Heavenly Wang café at Basement: hot coffee at $3.10
I have seen the above prices of coffee previously and these are really higher than before, arising from inflation. I could still recall there was one time when prices of a cup of coffee in city was around $2.20.
I did not purchase coffee from any of the options since I was headed to another part of Orchard, that is Somerset, where I could purchase coffee for less than $2 a cup.
Yes, there is still one place where one can still get coffee for less than $2 and I am not talking about food courts.
So, where can one still get coffee for less than $2 in Orchard Road, specifically in Somerset area?
Well, the answer: Old Tea Hut at TripleOne Somerset!
When I first tried the coffee from Old Tea Hut in year 2022, I was hooked! The coffee from Old Tea Hut can rival those veteran coffee chains in terms of taste and quality and I have been a fan since.
At $1.70, I can have a cup of strong coffee (Kopi Gao) from the Old Tea Hut outlet and price of the coffee are even lower at its heartland branches.
The above is definitely one ways to beat the high costs of living these days!
