Dear readers, welcome to Monday once again!
It is Monday Blues for many, and this is a common feeling!
Monday is the start of a brand new work week, and, I have no doubts that many are already looking toward for weekends to rest and recharge and plan for their own activities ahead!
Yes, weekends provide a good time to rest and recharge. For myself, I always ensure my weekends are well structured to provide sufficient “downtime” for me to rest and recharge, after a hectic week, for work in the coming week.
And this means, contrary to what many are doing, to avoid the hustle and bustle of modern living, e.g. shopping centres as far as practicable!
I myself am not used to the cacophony of all the sounds in shopping centres on weekends. While some may enjoy it, I found the sounds in busy shopping centres on weekends draining. If I were like to relax on weekends, shopping centres will be among the last option as going there defeats the purpose of relaxation!
For me, a good me time on weekends will be to have my favourite hawker food, topped off with a cup of Kopi Gao at a quiet time in one of the many hawker centres. And simply people-watch while sipping the hot kopi!
Speaking about the food, it is not just my favorite hawker food, but hawker food that is cooked with the soul: soul food, so to speak, if I can find time to queue for these! You know what distinguishes a soul food from another by the taste, you can literally feel it!
And also in my weekends activity are spending time with my family, reading, exercising and just finding some time to do my favorite activities. If I have some spare time, I will clear some work too! All these help me to stay sane and be mentally positive!
Notwithstanding work is important, it is important to spend the limited time on our earth doing the things that we need and want to do (and I assume all these are positive) with the time we have off work. It is even good if these activities also help us contribute to the community!
Have a Great weekends ahead!
