WEALTH IS WHAT WE EAT!

Dear readers, as we enter into a brand new year, online media is awash with ways to start a brand new year including setting new year resolutions and how to become richer. I read very little on the need to improve one’s fitness and health among the plethora of suggested new year targets.

As I advance in age, I become very mindful of what we put into our mouths. While Singapore is a food haven, there is an inevitable link of the food we eat and our health. Eat more oily, salty, sugary and MSG-laden food, one will feel happy briefly. But what happens after that will be accumulation of fats and health complications.

Cancer is getting more common in society these days and more people having cancer these days are younger. It is important to eat more healthily, have a proper sleep, exercise, manage stress well.

Eating more healthily is a discipline. Just today’s dinner, I have some fast food and perhaps after having distanced myself from the more “sinful food”, I feel disgusted body wise hours after consuming the fast food.

I believe it is my body getting used to healthier food and automatically rejecting the less healthy food. And if so, this is a good sign and I hope my body and good discipline can continue to guide me to eating well.

As I wish All of you prosper and do well in all aspects of your lives, l wish you also be more cautious in choosing the right food to eat this year. Sure, we can pamper ourselves once a while but do not let unhealthy food become a norm.

Good Health is what we eat. Wealth is Health and hence Wealth is what we eat!
