Dear readers, today is the start of a new month, and with this, a majority of the banks will be refreshing their fixed deposit rates and promotional rates, including UOB bank.
Yes, that’s right, I am going to share with you details of UOB Sep 23 Fixed Deposit promotion
Before we go into the Sep 23 fixed deposit interest rates of UOB, let us recap the fixed deposit interest rates of UOB in recent months:
May 2023: 3.45% per annum
Mid May 2023: 3.20% per annum
Jun 2023: 3.10% per annum, then updated to 2.90% per annum
Jul 2023: 2.7% per annum
Aug 2023: 2.7% per annum
And now, for the month of Sep 23, UOB bank is offering a fixed deposit promotional interest rate of 2.7% per annum for deposit amount of $10,000 and above for a tenor of 6 months and 10 months. This is a surprise, given again that interest rates from T-bills, Singapore Savings Bonds and some banks continue to hover above the 3% per annum mark. And secondly, this 2.7% per annum interest rate seems now to me a frozen interest rate from July 2023.
As one of the biggest banks here in Singapore and supposedly with a large base of account holders, I believe the big bank here should provide a more generous fixed deposit interest rate.
