TREASURY T-BILL BS23107V: CUT OFF YIELD

Dear readers, there will be an up and coming Treasury Bill (T-Bill), BS23107V, with an auction date of 13 Apr 23 and an issue date of 18 Apr 23. For savers and lovers of Treasury Bills, the obvious question is what will be the cut-off yield of T-Bill BS23107V?

First, to recap, for the previous Treasury Bill (T-Bill), BS23106N, with an auction date of 30 Mar 23 and an issue date of 4 Apr 23, the cut-off yield is 3.85%. If we take a look at the surrounding interest rates, e.g. of fixed deposits, the interest rates have been declining. As such, I would reckon that the cut-off yield of T-Bill BS23107V will be lower than 3.85%.

So, just how low the cut-off yield of T-Bill BS23107V will be lower than 3.85%? Well, the cut-off yield of the previous T-bill BS23106N at 3.85% was close to the moving average of the most recent three issuances of 6-month T-Bills at 3.83%.

The moving average of the most recent three issuances of 6-month T-Bills is 3.75%, hence I would think that the cut-off yield of BS23107V will be equal or close to 3.75%.

Let us see whether my analysis is correct.
