Dear readers, how time flies! We are now in November of the year and soon, all of us will be celebrating Christmas and ushering in a brand new year!
Whenever it comes to this time of the year, I will become very retrospective naturally and will tend to have a review on what I have achieved in terms of finances and other aspects of my life this year.
This review, I believe comes very naturally as many will tend to do this review or stocktake near the close of the year where each year tends to be seen as yet another chapter of one’s life.
As one book “Four Thousand Weeks” puts it quite clearly, assuming one lives to be eighty, one has just over four thousand weeks on earth. Amidst the aforementioned larger perspective of life, there is an important call internally within many of us to live our lives on earth as fruitfully as we can, notwithstanding that for many of us, we spend so much time on our lives on work.
While it is good and healthy to endeavour to achieve in career and other aspects of life, I believe in the importance of journey over destination. The experience of the journey in life, if well managed and well taken will make for a meaningful life that will triumph over the conventional value of success measured in monetary terms.
In gist, money is important but is not everything. As many of us embark on our annual review of our lives this year, let us all reaffirm the need for a more balanced life!
In the next upcoming posts, I will share with you some of my perspectives, experiences, learning curves for this year and things to improve going forward. Stay tuned and have a Good Day ahead!
