Dear readers, how time flies! We are into the second half of Year 2021. While the stocks markets have not crashed as some would have expected, the stock markets have not been too bearish nor bullish either. Hence there is no clear direction for the stock markets going forward, though some may argue that the gradual re-opening of the Singapore’s economy in light of the Covid-19 situation will be motivating factor for Singapore stocks.
Anyway, Singapore stocks markets was one of the best performing stocks markets for Year 2021 when the year started. Since then, gains for the Singapore stocks markets have since been pared down. However, the Singapore stocks markets, as measured by the Straits Times Index, has still provided investors with a decent 10% year-to-date upside on their capital!
Speaking of upsides, there is one stock markets that has performed thrice as good as the Singapore’s stocks markets! Investors who have invested in this stock markets would have gotten 30% capital upside year-to-date! What is this stocks markets?
Well, this good performing stocks markets is none other than Vietnam stock markets! Year-to-date, Vietnam VNINDEX has gone up 28.7% in capital gain already! That makes Vietnam stock markets one of the best performing stocks markets in the world. As comparison, US S&P 500 has gone up 15% year-to-date, US Dow Jones gone up by 13.2% year-to-date and Taiwan’s Taiex has gone up 20.2% year-to-date.
