Dear readers, there is one stock which I believe will be privatised in Year 2019 but it did not happen. This stock is none other than Sembcorp Marine stock and I still continue to believe that Sembcorp Marine stock could still be privatised in Year 2020.
The privatisation of Sembcorp Marine stock is always possible since as I have shared many times in this blog, there is scope for consolidation of the offshore oil and marine industry here in Singapore for increased efficiency. And recently, it was announced that Keppel Corporation has charted a plan all the way to Year 2030 and the plan include possible divestment of non-core businesses. I read it as that Keppel Corporation may want to focus on its core business that is the offshore energy and marine businesses. And what better way I think to focus this core business as to grow its core businesses possibly through a possible acquisition of Sembcorp Marine?
Let us see whether my prediction for the privatisation will be correct!
