Well, before we reveal the name of this Singapore stock. Let us trace back the performance of this Singapore stock. On 31 Dec 2019, this Singapore stock traded at 3.7 cents and just today, the stock closed at $1.62, about 4.38 times the stock price on 31 Dec 2019. That means, year-to-date, this stock has gained 338% when the larger backdrop of the global and Singapore stocks markets is bearish!
What Singapore stock is this? Well, this stock is none other than Medtecs International stock which has seen its stock price gain in view of its mask products amidst Covid-19.
And Medtecs International stock price is not alone in this rally, several Singapore stocks with a focus in rubber, protection products high in demand in Covid-19 have also rallied.
Consider Riverstone Holdings stock: $0.925 (31 Dec 2019) versus $3.64 (17 Aug 2020), translating into a 294% gain in price.
Or Sri Trang Agro stock: $0.435 (31 Dec 2019) versus $1.23 (17 Aug 2020), translating into a 182% gain in price.
I did not invest in these stocks since these are really situational plays and some of these stocks could get really volatile in price movements.
For example, Singapore E-development stock. This stock closed at 4.3 cents on 31 Dec 2019 and with some company developments which investors may link to be related to Covid-19 vaccine, the stock rallied over 64% in Jun 2020 and reached as high as $0.138 last month. Singapore E-development stock has since closed at $0.055 today, down by more than 60% .
