Dear readers, it has since been more than a decade since the last financial meltdown that rocked the markets. Since then, the world witnessed Covid-19 in 2020, a pandemic that threatened to upsend the stocks markets. However, stock markets worldwide remain pretty much robust with some overseas markets even managing to chalk up decent gains.

As of now, the Covid-19 pandemic seems to be pretty much controlled with vaccines rolled out in many countries. And here over in Singapore, the Straits Times Index also managed to stay above 3,000 (to close at 3,175.57 yesterday) which is a decent level. In the short term, all seems well with the global stock markets.

It is in this backdrop that many may still dismissing the notion of a next financial meltdown anytime in the near future and keeps investing and investing. My advice is really to invest in the stock markets now not with all your monies but also to keep your investment war chest ready. Because nobody knows when the next financial meltdown will occur. When the mass correction started, the southing of the markets will often be sudden and swift, to nobody’s expectation.

It is then that your investment warchest will be very useful to take advantages of good market opportunities. So start or continue to build your investment war chest today!
