Dear readers, we are on the last trading day of the first week of Year 2021. Amidst the seemingly flattish Straits Times Index (STI), there is one Singapore stock which has already gained 10.7% in 2021 year-to-date! This stock closed at $0.159 on 31 Dec 2020 and as of yesterday (7 Jan 2021), this stock was up by already 10.7%, closing at $0.176. What is this Singapore stock?
Well, this Singapore stock was a former Straits Times Index (STI) constituent stock and was popular before. This stock is none other than Golden Agriculture Resources stock. Due to the bullish stock price movement, Golden Agriculture Resources stock is now Overbought based on RSI>70.
As of yesterday, Golden Agriculture Resources stock is currently undervalued with a Price-to-Book ratio of 0.416. The stock offers a dividend yield of 3.295%. Will Golden Agriculture Resources stock continue to go higher for the year and become one of the best Singapore stock performers for Year 2021?
While the stellar run of Golden Agriculture Resources stock is impressing, I don’t quite like the fact that Golden Agriculture Resources stock is after all a commodity stock despite being one of the largest crude palm oil (CPO) producers in the world. I don’t like the fact that the performance of this stock depends on the CPO prices (demand and supply) which I am not familiar and have not much of knowledge about. Also, though Golden Agriculture Resources stock is undervalued, I am not impressed as there are many undervalued Singapore stocks similarly trading at very humble prices now.
I prefer to invest in a stock of an industry which I have some knowledge about or at least know a bit of the future trend for the stock.
