Dear readers, I am suffering from Shrinkflation.
I am not sure whether you have heard about this term, Shrinkflation though you would definitely heard about inflation: since costs of living and inflation are getting higher here in Singapore.
Shrinkflation is actually linked to Inflation.
And Inflation? Definitely, I am suffering from the effects of it, having to pay higher prices for almost everything these days.
And when I am not paying higher prices for the things that I consume, it is where Shrinkflation comes, silently.
Just look, I had a plate of Kway Chap yesterday at my office’s coffee house.
I was impressed that the price of the Kway Chap remains the same despite inflation and higher cost of living.
But when I saw the preparation work: I was left unimpressed: the stall assistant gave much fewer portions of the meat for my order.
There you go: Shrinkflation, paying the same price for the same item, but the portion becomes reduced and I definitely ended up hungrier these days!
