Dear readers, Singapore’s retrenchment figures were released yesterday. In the second quarter (Apr to Jun) of 2020, there was 8,130 retrenchments. Adding these numbers to the 3,220 retrenchments in the first quarter (Jan to Mar) of 2020, there were a total of 11,350 retrenchments in the first half of 2020.

It was also reported that a total of 78,800 citizens and 10,900 PRs were unemployed as of Jun 2020.

It is really a difficult time for those who are retrenched and I sincerely wish all who were retrenched the very best in their seeking of another job. The most important thing for all retrenched workers is to continue to have a Positive Mindset. The Positive Mindset will attract positive energy which will be very beneficial to the retrenched workers.

I attached below some very positive stories of Jobseekers.

Mr James Ching Chee Keng who was a former regional General Manager and is now turning to pursuing a MBA

Mr Kelvin Lim who landed a job at Sushi Express

Ms Sameera Nazrin, a recent graduate who secured traineeship despite multiple rejections

Mr Sean Lim Wei Xin, a fresh graduate who is pressing on for a full time career

For those of us who are employed, we should feel grateful to still have a job in these challenging economical time.
