Dear readers, as you would have known by now, the SingapoRediscover vouchers are now up for use with effect from yesterday. The news is abuzz with Singaporeans thronging the related booths for more information on how to use the SingapoRediscover vouchers.
The intent of the SingapoRediscover vouchers is simple which is none other than for Singaporeans to support the local hospitality sector through visiting local places of attractions and or staying in local hotels. I acknowledge the intent and I must put it simply that the vouchers are to encourage Singaporeans to discover new experiences without the need to step foot out of Singapore.
I have always been an avid explorer of what Singapore has to offer, being an interested explorer and frequent visitor of Singapore’s nature. Just yesterday, I shared how I did not find Clementi Forest but Clementi Forest found me . Or you could have read my recent post on the three worst-kept secrets of Jurassic Mile which is Changi Airport’s most recent place of attraction.
I always think that to discover new experiences, one need not always travel out of one’s house to do so. One could simply read books of different topics and be immediately transported to another experience at your own reading pace and comfort. As an avid reader, I could attest to just how books teach me, enlighten me and bring me to places be they places many years ago or to places beyond our physical realm. Is it not even better then for experiences to be discovered via books? And somemore one could keep the books after reading and relive the experiences again and again through re-reading the book!
Yes, that’s right; given a choice, I will want to use the SingapoRediscover vouchers to purchase books so that while Singaporeans all head out to dine, have fun and stay in hotels in Singapore, I will be having a really different kind of more exciting experience. And since this is a financial blog, I will not leave this post by not saying that investors may even use the vouchers to buy some good books to enrich one financial education. And who knows, this initial capital spent on the investment books could well lead you to multiply your wealth with the right knowledge and action!
And in these uncertain economic times on the back of Covid-19, some good books could help with uplifting the lives of our people spiritually!
Yes, really hope that the SingapoRediscover vouchers could be used to buy books for us All!
