Dear readers, at the time of my writing, the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 had increased from yesterday. It is truly a challenging time for Singapore. There was a palpable sense of how times are bad for retail as some of the shopping malls I went were noticeably quieter. Some countries had also issued travel advisories against Singapore. And businesses have forecasted that the fallout from COVID-19 would hit them hard.
On the Singapore stocks markets front, I think many investors are sitting on the sideline, waiting for clearer clarity on how the COVID-19 will pan out. Sitting on the sideline is a wise strategy if it means trying to make sense of the markets before investing precious monies into stocks.
