NEW COVID-19 CASES IN SINGAPORE: AN ENCOURAGING SIGN

Dear readers, yesterday it was reported that there were three new cases of the confirmed Covid-19 cases in Singapore. However, it was at least good to hear that all the three new cases were linked to previously identified clusters.

With yesterday’s reporting of the new Covid-19 cases, I have updated the above chart showing the moving averages graphs of the new covid-19 cases in Singapore. I have also added a three-day moving average to the chart with the view that a shorter-term moving average could be useful in giving an even earlier indication of the development of the Covid-19 cases in Singapore.

From the chart above, it is encouraging to note that the three-day moving average of the Covid-19 cases in Singapore as at 16 February 2020 (which is 5.7) has started to trend toward the five-day moving average (which is 5.6)! Let us hope that the three-day moving average of the new local Covid-19 cases go lower than the five-day moving average. And let the five-day moving average start to trend lower too, followed by that for 10-day moving average.

I am confident that Singapore will conquer the Covid-19 episode!
